The Tufts University European Center has welcomed distinguished organizations from all over the world to its magnificent facility in the French Alps. Groups like the Council on Foreign Relations, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the Harvard Weatherhead Center on International Affairs, and the World Peace Foundation are among the many groups who have held successful seminars, workshops, or meetings at the center.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Annecy, the center was once a Benedictine monastery. Founded in the 11th century the building is steeped in history. With itthick stone walls and lush garden, the Tufts European Center evokes an overriding sense of peace and tranquility, and provides a unique atmosphere for reflection, discussion, and exchange.

Centrally located in Europe, the European Center is easily accessible from all major European cities. It is an hour’s drive from the Geneva airport (50 km), a 2-hour drive from Lyon (160 km), and a 3-hour TGV train ride from Paris to the nearby city of Annecy. The Annecy train station is only a 20-minute drive or bus ride from Talloires. Please visit our
