Three photos of groups of students participating in program activities

Dates: June 30 – July 26, 2024

The Tufts Summit program is designed to offer a select group of rising high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to take a college-level course on International Relations while being immersed in French language and culture.  Classes are complemented by excursions to Geneva and the surrounding region, students also enjoy a host of extracurricular activities including hiking and swimming. Students live with carefully selected host families, most often with another student.

Tufts Summit students take two non-credit courses: International Relations in a Changing World and La Langue et La Culture Française. Both are taught by instructors who bring enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of their individual fields into the classroom. Courses are tailored to an audience of high school students and to fit the short duration of the program.

Tufts Summit is a considered an enrichment program, highly academic in nature but without offering college credit. Students will be expected to keep up with readings and assignments.

Before You Apply

It is very important that student applicants consult our Preparing to Go pages before applying to study in Talloires.  Living in another country and navigating a new culture are wonderful experiences but not without challenges. Understanding this ahead of time will help students make an informed decision about participating in the program. There are also many important practical aspects to consider before you apply including finances, visa status, etc.

The Tufts Summit Program is open to applications from all students who meet the following criteria:

  • Students must be rising high school juniors or seniors (having completed a minimum of two years of high school)
  • Students must have completed a minimum of two years of formal French instruction

The application will go live on December 1, 2023 at 8 am EST.  We are still accepting applications.
