A Wonderful Summer in the Alps!

The Tufts European Center’s 2022 Season was marked by a very happy return to Talloires. The excitement and energy were palpable as once again, the Priory was abuzz with classes, lectures and music! For students, faculty, seminar participants and even our local host families, it was as if our absence had amplified the desire to be engaged with the world again.

This summer didn’t disappoint! Students, professors, staff members, along with director Gabriella Goldstein, were all ready to travel to Talloires to make the most of the programs and events that took place during summer 2022. Seventy students embarked on the Tufts in Talloires program, ten for the Tufts in Annecy program and twenty-one, for Tufts Summit, the high school program. Many wonderful seminars and conferences also took place including Harvard Weatherhead Center, Tufts International Board of Advisors, Talloires Book Fair, Tufts Biomedical Engineers and The World Trade Organization, just to name a few. For us, it was a relief and a joy to be able to return to our mission of facilitating cultural exchange, experiential learning, and important international conversations.
Of course there were some challenges – many related to the lingering COVID pandemic, but the overwhelming support we felt from every part of our community far outweighed everything else. Now, with the arrival of the winter season, we are focused on our plans for summer 2023 in Talloires!
