This summer, Gabriella Goldstein and Sarah Craver travelled to Talloires to do some maintenance on the Priory, reconnect with colleagues, friends, and neighbors in the village, and most importantly, begin preparing for next summer.

While none of the European Center’s regular programs took place in Talloires this year, during the course of the summer, the Priory was able to host several cultural events, including an exhibit entitled “The American Roots of Modern Talloires.” The exhibit was organized by the Mayor’s Office for the annual French “Patrimony Days,” and featured displays about Donald and Charlotte MacJannet, their early days in Talloires, and the current activities of the Tufts European Center. In addition, in early October, the Priory will be one of several host locations for the village’s annual book festival, “Lir O Lac.”

Although it has been an unusual summer, Gabriella and Sarah were happy to be able to spend some time in Talloires, and look forward to returning to full programming in 2022!
